We are offering a prize of £250 and a public lecture in Salcombe for an original work of written research on the history of Salcombe. The research can be on any aspect of Salcombe’s history, including its people, industries, the land or sea.
It is open to anyone who is in full time education and the length should not exceed 5,000 words.
The prize is called the Ann Inch Award and is in memory of, and financed by a bequest from, Ann Inch.
We hope that the prize will promote research into Salcombe’s history and have contacted the history departments at South Hams schools and Exeter and Plymouth universities to encourage students to apply.
To apply for the award or with questions about it, please contact info@salcombehistorysociety.co.uk.
