Notes - Served in The East Yorkshire Regiment, stationed at Plymouth.
Killed in action in Belgium 1940 aged 28 years.
The names of Alec and his comrades were found in a charred wallet. The Mayor of Le Panne returned it to his wife Dorothy more than 4 years after the event with the sad news that Alec and his menhad died on the Battle front. Their Graves at first, marked with a simple wooden cross.
