Philip Yeoman
-
Name Philip Yeoman - Only the bare facts of the marriage of Phillip (bp. 1758) to Mary Hamblin are recorded. She was the daughter of John Hamlyn and Ann (nee Worden), and was baptised on 7 January 1761. (Note the change in the spelling of the name - it is not until the end of the 18th century that spelling begins to become standardised.) It is established that they lived at Batson - the modern name for Badestan of Norman times - which is a hamlet just upstream from Salcombe. Mary was buried at Malborough on 29 June 1825.
