In 1883 William was a Volunteer in the Devonshire Artillery Volunteer brigade.
In Kelly's 1893 Directory it lists William as a Carter from Higher Batson.
The note on the back of the photo attached to the Devonshire Artillery Volunteer Brigade
No.14 W Murch, Haulier and then it says "Son Married Mrs Heath's Sister".
Stanley Murch married Ethel May Putt, her sister Agnes Victoria Putt married Robert M Heath.
