      TR 8/1081 William Jarvis of the 33rd Battalion, the Training Reserve. Son of William and Fanny Jarvis; husband of Amelia Jarvis of Batson, Salcombe. Born in Malborough in 1884. In 1901 he was a cowman living at Hanger Farm, Malborough. Enlisted at Newton Abbot. The 33rd T.R. Battalion was based at Wool, Dorset. It was part of the 8th Training brigade. Died 6 February 1917 aged 31 at home. Buried in Salcombe Cemetery. Grave reference 4.10
