      Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Lethbridge, of 26, Buckley St., Salcombe, Devon.

      K/14459 Stoker 1st Class James Alfred Lethbridge of the Royal Navy, HM Mine Sweeper Kinross. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Lethbridge of Victory Cottage, 26, Buckley St., Salcombe. Born in Salcombe 28 February 1894. In 1911 he was a general labourer aged 16, living with his parents at Victory Cottage, Buckley. His father was a farm labourer. Killed or died as a direct result of enemy action 16 June 1919 aged 24. Body not recorded for burial. His name is recorded on the Plymouth Naval Memorial on the Hoe. 16 Jun 19 KINROSS minesweeper mined in the Aegean
      HMS Kinross was a Hunt class minesweeper launched in July 1918 and sunk by a mine in the Aegean on 16 June 1919 .At the time of her loss HMS Kinross was serving with the Mediterranean Fast Minesweeper Flotilla.12 members of the ships company were lost, including LETHBRIDGE, James A, Stoker 1c, K 14459, with most casualties incurred in the ships engine & boiler rooms..
