    • 922038 Private Samuel Patey of 31st Battalion Canadian Infantry, (Alberta Rgt)

      In 1911 he was living at 2 Coronation Rd Salcombe with his widowed Mother and 4 of his 14 siblings.
      Samuel emigrated to Canada on 15th May 1913 on board "Sicilian" and arrived in Quebec on 28th May.
      He enlisted at Winnepeg on 22nd Dec 1914.

      Killed in action at the Battle of Sanctuary Wood, south-east of Zillebek. on 14 June 1916 aged 25
