Post Office established in Salcombe. Sally Stone was appointed Postmistress on an annual salary of £5.

| 4 | 1827 | - 1827: Cooks Boatstore
What became Cook's boatstore was built on Customs quay.
It was built for Thomas Partridge, sailmaker and then became Reeves timber store.
The quay was originaly known as Trinick's or Steamer Quay.

| 5 | 1838 | - 1838: Hannafords Butchers, 10 Fore Street, Established.

| 6 | 1843 | - 1843: Holy Trinity Church.
1841. Building started on the Parish Church which cost £2600 to build.

| 7 | 1844 | - 1844: The beacons were erected on the rocks at the bottom of the harbour.

Salcombe Boys School built
- 1847: Customs House
Foundation stone laid in October of this year
The new Custom House was built in Valentine Place now Union Street.

| 10 | 1854 | - 1854: The Infant School was built at Courtenay Street which may have been known as Channel Street in 1854.
- 1854—1976: The Infants School was closed.

A rookery opposite the church was cut down.

Salcombe's first lifeboat arrived

| 13 | 1871 | - 1871: Baptist Church was opened.

| 14 | 1875 | - 1875: Salcombe Girls School built

| 15 | 1877 | - 1877: Shadycombe Cemetery was opened.
When it eventually closed a site at Bonfires Hill was purchased for Burials.

| 16 | 1893 | - 1893: South Devon Land Company began to auction building plots.
The plots varied in price from £20 to £60,

| 17 | 1895 | - 4 Jul 1895: The Waterworks were opened.

| 18 | 1911 | - 1911: Commander S. W. Ryder bought the ferry rights. The ferry was operated by Jim Canham until he was drowned when the Salcombe lifeboat William and Emma capsized near the Bar.
