  • —2010: The Town Twinning association with Cabourg was wound up.
1843 
  • 1843: Holy Trinity Church. 1841. Building started on the Parish Church which cost £2600 to build.
1844 
  • 1844: The beacons were erected on the rocks at the bottom of the harbour.
1847 
  • 1847: Boys School
    Salcombe Boys School built
  • 1847: Customs House
    Foundation stone laid in October of this year The new Custom House was built in Valentine Place now Union Street.
1850 
  • 1850: North Sands sea wall built c1850.
1854 
  • 1854: The Infant School was built at Courtenay Street which may have been known as Channel Street in 1854.
  • 1854—1976: The Infants School was closed.
1859 
  • 1859: Rookery
    A rookery opposite the church was cut down.
1869 
  • 1869: Lifeboat
    Salcombe's first lifeboat arrived
1871 
  • 1871: Baptist Church was opened.
10 1875 
  • 1875: Salcombe Girls School built
11 1877 
  • 1877: Shadycombe Cemetery was opened. When it eventually closed a site at Bonfires Hill was purchased for Burials.
12 1893 
  • 1893: South Devon Land Company began to auction building plots. The plots varied in price from £20 to £60,
13 1895 
  • 4 Jul 1895: The Waterworks were opened.
