According to Fairweather, Muriel and David Murch and Len (1987). 'Sail and steam in Salcombe Harbour'. Westway. p. 21. ISBN 0-901474-23-1, Zenobia was lost sometime between 16 May 1887, when she left Newport, Monmouthshire carrying coal, and 2 June 1887, when parts of the boat were found ashore at Llanelli.
