    Notes
    • Blinded in the Great War (WWI)
    • George Prowse went to Kingsbridge to get the Train to Exeter to enlist in the Army in WWI.
This trip was for a medical to be passed fit to fight.
Tests and Dental Checks were done etc. The Eye Test was done.
During this procedure drops were put into Georges eyes.
Having then been passed fit George got on the Train for the return journey.
However by the time he arrived at Kingsbridge Station he had gone Blind.
One can only assume that the drops administered during his Medical were the cause of his Blindness.
