History Society Meeting on 23 November
Stephen Pedrick gave a most interesting and well received talk to the History Society on 23 November, “From voices to pages – Oral history captured”. A capacity audience at Salcombe Rugby Club heard how Steve started off recording recollections of life in the South Hams nearly 20 years ago and how he put together the memories of times past which are in his three books.  Steve showed numerous photos of the people whose stories he has set down and played recordings of what they said.

Following Steve’s talk, Roger Barrett introduced his new book “A History of Salcombe and its Surroundings”, which is on sale at Salter’s Bookshelf in Salcombe, Ashby’s of Salcombe and The Harbour Bookshop in Kingsbridge, or by emailing info@salcombemuseum.org.uk.  The price is £12.99 plus £3.50 post and packing.

Many thanks to all who attended on 23 November.
