The local news website www.kingsbridge-today.co.uk has published an article asking for local oral histories to add to Salcombe History Society’s growing collection. So far, chairman Ken Prowse’s interviews with local people have turned up tales of snail racing at Batson and spider racing at East Allington. These are just two accounts from over 200 oral interviews that the Society has collected. If you have an interesting anecdote or any relevant photos, news clippings or other ephemera please bring them along to Salcombe History Society’s AGM on March 17th at 7.30pm at Salcombe Primary School. Alternatively, get in touch with the Society by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org .
